MINUTES OF TOWN OF COON BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETIN

MARCH 11, 2008


The regular meeting of the Town of Coon Board of Supervisors was held at the Coon Town Hall on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 1:00 p.m.


Present: Orlan Bakkum , chairman; Leon Minor, supervisor; Janice L Ihle, treasurer, Lorraine Bakkestuen, clerk and Dale Haugrud, patrolman. Craig Storm came late due to another meeting.

Also present wer:e Kyle Gibbons and Kevin Shmitz from Scott Construction and Arnie McCulla from Fahner Construction. Also present were Dan Hoflien and David Stowe.


Bids for 2008 sealcoating of designated roads were opened. Scott Construction bid at $17,308.10 per mile and Fahner at $15, 750 per mile.


Discussion on bids received for 2008 sealcoating of roads delayed until Craig Storm could be present at the meeting.


Motion made by Orlan, seconded by Leon to approve the minutes of previous regular Town of Coon Board of Supervisors meeting. All aye. Motion carried.

Bank Adjustment of 32.13 had been made.


Motion to accept treasurer`s report made by Leon, seconded by Orlan. All aye. Motion carried.


Motion made by Leon, seconded by Craig to pay all claims. All aye. Motion carried.


Sand & salt report: Approximately 500 yards less.


Discussion on bids received for 2008 sealcoating of town roads. Specifications on both bids were

equal. Both bids required that payment was to be made within 30 days of completion of the sealcoating.

Scott Construcion allowed the Township to pay in September in the past which is beyond the 30 day period. The warranty stated in the contracts cover everything specified in the contracts of both parties.

Both parties would do field approaches. No positive feedback had been received on Fahner work done.


Motion made by Leon to accept Scott Construction bid on sealcoating of Town of Coon roads in 2008

Motion seconded by Orlan. Craig voted nay. Motion carried.


David Stowe requested that cardboard not be thrown in with the other waste material. He was instructed by Orlan to contact Gayle Frie at the Vernon County level which is the responsible unit involed in recyclables. He was instructed to leave the site attendant alone to do his job.


No fire calls had been received.


No building permits had been issued.


Nothing had been heard on the Johnson and Rudie disputes.


Four town officials would be attending the April 5, 2008 Towns Association District Meeting.


The Town of Coon Newsletter would be made out at the end of March.


Spring large item cleanup days would be held on April 18 and April 10, 2008.


Check had been received from the individual`s insurance company, American Family Insurance Co.

for the accident involving Town of Coon truck.


The Annual Town of Coon meeting will be held on April 10, 2008. at 7:30 p.m.


The next regular Town of Coon Board of Supervisors meeting will be held at the Coon Town Hall on April 8,2008 at 1:00 p.m.


Motion to accept the Kraemer Contract made by Craig, seconded by Leon. All aye. Motion carried.


Motion to allow Dale to purchase 2 new radios for trucks made by Leon, seconded by Craig. All aye. Motion carried.


Insurance coverage for rental house had been canceled.


Motion to adjourn by Craig, seconded by Leon. All aye. Motion carried.
